Bonutti Technologies is a longstanding Innovation Studio that is committed to improving the quality of healthcare. Founded in 1990 by Dr. Peter Bonutti, MD an Orthopedic Surgeon, inventor, and entrepreneur, Bonutti Technologies has a track record of identifying problems and creating novel solutions that become tomorrow’s key trends. Our team has developed over 450 issued US patents, over 100 pending patents and applications, and executed over 700 patent licenses earing over $250 million in royalties and license fees. Bonutti Technologies intellectual property has been licensed to over 20 major multinational healthcare companies and generated over 5 billion in revenue for those companies. Bonutti Technologies is focused on problem solving and finding solutions across multiple areas including medical devices, pharmaceuticals, consumer products, and have a proven track record of developing and licensing IP/technology across a broad range of medical/surgical specialties. BT has developed technologies that have facilitated Minimally Invasive Surgery (MIS), Surgical Robotics, MRI Technology, Biodegradable Electronics, Gender/Race Specific Surgical Implant sand Pharmaceuticals, Infection Control, COVID Therapies, Enhanced Visualization utilizing AI, Green Technology, Consumer Health and Wellness Products to name some of the areas. BT has a focus of look at technology from patient/individual perspective and identifying solutions looking at the “least common denominator”, i.e. the simplest and most straightforward solutions to challenging problems.

At Bonutti Technologies, we have built a robust studio funded with hundreds of patents in the pipeline that can be commercialized. Our 40,000 square foot facility located in Effingham, IL houses state-of-the-art equipment and teams dedicated to rapid prototype development, mechanical testing, electronics lab, and manufacturing/production, intellectual property team, quality and regulatory team as proven clinical partnerships with major medical companies such as Stryker, Zimmer Biomet, and Kyphon. Bonutti Technologies has developed products through these design teams that include Jugger Knot, Persona, TKA ROSA and MAKO robotic systems, Versa Stepto name just a few.
